Welcome to my website. Please browse my portfolio below to see samples of my work, take a peek at my studio and get an insight into my creative process. You can find out more about how I develop my ideas and where they lead by following the links above to my blog and shop.
I first started linocutting in 2017 and quickly fell in love with the medium. I’ve been honing my skills in this area ever since.
These are just a small selection of my pieces (yes, I am a fan of blue!) many of which are available as prints and cards and also on mugs, notebooks, magnets and jewellery in my shop
Many pieces of my art are available as greetings cards. I also create a lot of designs specifically for this medium. Some of the cards here are linocuts (my speciality), others are hand drawn or painted and then finished in photoshop.
These cards (and many others) are for sale at Helena Handcart on Etsy. I also have an increasing range on Thortful.
I work from my home studio in Northumberland amidst the fields and the sheep.
The photos here show aspects of my linocutting process which involves carving a design into lino, rolling on ink and then using pressure to print onto paper. These designs can then be scanned into my computer and transferred onto a range of products. My favourite part of the process is the moment the paper is peeled back to reveal the print!
You can watch a video of me carving and printing one of my linocuts at the bottom of this page and find out more about linocutting on my blog.

My interest in miniatures began in 2017 when I set myself the task of drawing 100 tiny pictures in 100 days. I (just about) managed it! They each took anything from 15 minutes to 2 hours to draw and some were less than 2cm in diameter - for example, the boat here is a teeny 1.8cm from prow to stern.
Since then I’ve drawn many more which are available as mounted giclee prints in my shop. I also do commissions, such as the phoenix shown here.
You can find out more about my miniatures in this blog post and see more at #maddysminiatures on Instagram.
I create my LED lamps by printing my original linocuts onto clear acrylic. This then slots into a beech wood base which has LED lights in it. They emit a stunning, cosy glow. You can see more designs and buy them here.
I also make sun catchers which slot into a wooden base. Placed in front of a window these catch the light beautifully. Browse the full range here.

I've designed a range of gift and homewares displaying my art on an array of useful and attractive items - mugs, bags, key rings, aprons, compact mirrors... loads of products. Check out my etsy shop for more!
